17Hundred Miles

These photos come from a trip I went on 4 years ago. The starting point was Minneapolis MN, an the ending was Washington State. A total of around 1700 miles. A pretty big undertaking for my first attempt at riding trains. Looking back at these photos and thinking about this trip I really wish a couple things went differently. First is that I would have shot more. As the old saying goes “if only I knew then what I know now.” This was in my first year of shooting and it kicked off 10 months of traveling the country and I only brought (1) 32 gig card… I had to delete photos to keep taking more instead of just buying a new card. Computers an portable hard drives have crashed since then and these .Jpegs are all I have left.

On the bright side I plan to redo this route at some point, hopefully sooner than later. With that being said, I’ll be the first to say not to ride trains. This shit is not a game and it can be super dangerous, not to mention leave you with some unwanted legal troubles.

Thanks for checking these out. In the near future, I will be going through my archives of “B-list” photos from previous trips that have been collecting dust and an bringing them to light.

If you enjoyed these and want to see more train adventures, please check out some of my other blogs as I have a few you may be interested in!
